Hardwood Care & Maintenance

Keep your hardwood flooring looking its best with our care & maintenance guide.

Daily Hardwood Care

When it comes to caring for your hardwood, the best thing to do is to consistently sweep your floors. By actively working to remove dirt, dust, and other debris, you can help to ensure that your hardwood floor does not take on scratches or scrapes. Plan on sweeping your hardwood floors daily, or at minimum every couple of days, for maximum beauty.

Preventative

Basic preventative maintenance is key in keeping your hardwood floors looking great. Plan on sweeping and dusting on a daily basis to help remove dirt and other debris. Said debris can scratch your floors and work its way into the crevasses, causing long-term damage.

Liquids

With hardwood floors, liquid spills are cause for concern. Simply wipe away any spills or messes as they occur to prevent long-term damage. Failure to do so may result in damage to the subfloor, so act fast when spills occur.

High Traffic Areas

For high-traffic hardwood areas, consider adding an area rug to help absorb some of the wear and tear. At America's Carpet Outlet, we provide a wide variety of custom area rugs that are designed to meet your needs.
